Canada spouse/common law/qualified dependants sponsorship
The purpose of Family Class Immigration is for family members to reunite and obtain Permanent Residence in Canada. Eligible sponsors are Individuals who are Permanent Residents or Citizens of Canada. Sponsors can apply directly for Spouses or common law partners (must meet the common law requirements to be eligible) and qualified dependent children, or adopted children. The Sponsor a Parent/Grandparent (and Partners or Spouses) is also available.
Sponsoring a Spouse or Common Law Partner and Dependent Children
Sponsors can apply directly for Spouses or common law partners (must meet the common law requirements to be eligible) and qualified dependent children or adopted children. In the event of a Permanent Resident or Citizen not having these existing relationships and is alone in Canada, a brother, sister, nephew, niece, orphaned grandchildren under age 18 or, or any other relative can be sponsored.
Eligibility (Canada spouse/common law/qualified dependants sponsorship)
○ Be at least 18 years old
○ Be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada
○ Have an eligible Spouse or common law partner
○ Must not be barred from sponsorship, (have another active spousal or common law sponsorship not yet completed)
*Sponsors are exempt from meeting any financial requirements (Lico) if the individuals are Family Members (Spouse, common law partner, dependent children, adopted children or relatives listed above), Although a Sponsor is exempt from meeting the minimum required income, they must submit the latest copy of their tax assessment. Sponsors continue to be financially responsible for those they sponsor with an undertaking of 3 years for spouses or common law partners, for children-10 years or when the child turns 22, 20 years for parents and grandparents and their dependent children.

○ Must not be Inadmissible due to Security Reasons, Serious Criminality, Criminality, Health Reasons, or any listed under the Immigration Refugee Protection Regulations.
