Canada Federal Skilled Worker

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for applicants applying directly in the Express Entry for Permanent Residents based on a point system that assesses their contribution to Canada, and their ability to be economically established. However, many factors such as a valid job offer can provide the best results. If you have education that matches current work experience in an occupation in the NOC Code that’s listed as 0, A, or B, then FSW may be for you!

Eligibility

Have relevant work related to your education in the NOC system which is 0=Managerial Occupations, A= Professional Occupations or B= Technical Occupations and Trades

Education A maximum of 25 Points can be achieved under Education:

Language Proficiency

*Must meet the Minimum standard for the Canadian Language Benchmark in English or French, more points are awarded for higher proficiencies!

*Maximum of 4 Points can be awarded for CLB 5 in a Second Language (English or French)

Work Experience

Must have at least 1 year full time Work Experience in an occupation that’s directly related to your education in Skill Level 0, A, or B of the NOC Code, in the previous 10 years prior to applying. Up to a maximum of 15 Points can be awarded!

* The work experience must be directly related to the Lead Statement listed for the NOC Code 2016, as well as performing many of the main and essential duties.

Age

Credit for age is maximized for those who are between 18 and 36!

10 points are awarded for pre-arranged employment in Canada in a Skill Level 0, A or B job.

*Those who do not have arranged employment must have settlement funds according to the number of family members listed on the LICO Table.

Adaptability

A total of 10 additional points can be awarded for those with current or previous ties to Canada through education, family members, or a spouses factors.

*The current minimum points required for consideration is 67/100. Online applications can be created and added to when your credentials or factors are upgraded.

Admissible

All Applicants must be Admissible to enter Canada

Must not be Inadmissible due to Security Reasons, Serious Criminality, Criminality, Health Reasons or any listed under the Immigration Refugee Protection Regulations.
